Aussie Desert Dogs

Aussie Desert Dogs, led by Gloria Morales, is dedicated to supporting the Aboriginal communities of Yuendumu, Nyirripi, Yulamu, and surrounding areas. The organization provides daily care, medical assistance, and food to animals in need, while also promoting community education on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

The Warlukurlangu Dogs Program funds and supports a quarterly desexing and veterinary program, coordinated by Gloria Morales. This initiative helps control the local dog population, provides necessary medical treatments, and ensures the health and well-being of animals in the community.

Community members are actively engaged in caring for their animals through education and support provided by Gloria. The program fosters a sense of responsibility and empowerment, encouraging locals to take an active role in the health and well-being of their pets.

Dogs and dingos hold a significant place in Aboriginal culture, valued as companions, protectors, and spiritual beings. They feature prominently in Jukurrpa (Dreaming), Creation stories, and ceremonies, highlighting their deep cultural and spiritual importance.
