This Headsox design by Martumili artist Nancy Chapman portrays a part of the Minyi Puru (Seven Sisters) story from the Jukurrpa (Dreamtime). This is a very significant story that travels a very long way around the country. The Seven Sisters are running away from a man who is chasing them. They have travelled all the way from Roebourne to get to Parnkarl where they stopped for a while before flying off again.
This beautiful artwork is dedicated to the memory of Nancy and her contribution to culture and community. We pay our respects to Nancy’s family and community at this sorry time and are grateful to have permission from Nancy's family to continue to sell this wonderful design.
