Kenny is a Larrakia man born in Darwin, who collects his own wood for carving from his traditional Country, and his carvings are painted using traditional Larrakia designs.
The black cockatoo is a symbol of transformation and awakening, often seen as a harbinger of rain. In the Larrakia tradition, it’s thought to guide and safeguard the spirits of those who have passed, helping them find their way to rest amongst the Ancestors.
