Parrying Malgarr with Bunjil Design.

Traditionally, Malgarr were used with Liyangayil (fighting clubs) for hand-to-hand combat with enemies. Mick Harding has replicated the shape of these shields in his artwork.

Bunjil the wedge tailed eagle created the Earth and all the living things in it. Once Bunjil finished creating the Earth, he and his six special men were blown by Bellin Bellin the Musk Crow’s winds to live in plenty in the sky as stars.

Hand crafted in Australia from Australian Red Cedar timber.

All artefacts come with an information card which contains information about the artist, artefact and design. All designs are based on traditional Aboriginal symbols from south-east Australia.
