Colleen Wallace Nungarrayi was born on Santa Teresa Mission in the 1970’s where she was raised with traditional education and ideals. She is a self taught artist who comes from a strong family tradition of Eastern Arrernte painters. Colleen was raised by her step mother, Katherine Wallace, at Santa Teresa and Alice Springs. Colleen’s father’s country is near Gem Tree, north of Alice Springs.
