Barbara Pananka was born at Stirling Station around 1950. She grew up in the traditional way and married at a young age. She had 8 children, 2 boys and 6 girls. All her daughters paint as does two of her granddaughters. Barbara moved to Darwin in 2008 after her husband died and all of her children and their families had left Stirling Station for Darwin.
